Financial Health

Let's talk about the least discussed pillar of health. Financial health.

Did you know, according to financial experts, about 80% of Americans are in debt (1)?

Eight in 10 Americans have some form of consumer debt, and in America, the average is $38,000 per person.

This doesn't include mortgage debt, which is the most significant contributor. Unexpected medical expenses are rapidly adding to this debt (2, 10).

According to studies, financial stress has a tremendous impact on our mental health, physical fitness, and relationships.

Chronic stress impacts our; quality of sleep, eating habits, the level of inflammation in our bodies, and our long-term brain function (3).

To add to this stress, we are experiencing the first
female recession in history. Eight hundred sixty-five thousand women left the workforce between August and September of 2020 (4).

"There is a real possibility many jobs lost by women will never come back,"

said Heidi Shierholz, senior economist and director of policy at the Economic Policy Institute.

According to the  National Women's Law Center, women earn, on average, $403,440 less throughout their lives than their male peers.

For Black women, the losses are $867,920 on average. Latina women lose $1,056,120. This wage gap has made it difficult for women to weather the pandemic (5).

Women and minorities are suffering the repercussions of a system that treats them unequally.

We are working to change this paradigm and provide solutions and options.

A global poll conducted by Gallup has uncovered that out of the world's one billion full-time workers, only 15% of people are engaged at work.

This means an astronomical 85% of people are unhappy in their jobs (6). On average, we spend 1/3 of our lives working (7).

Is your work meaningful? Do you feel that the job you do is important? Do you feel motivated and involved in your occupation?
